I feel terrible about not telling you this sooner, but if you follow my social media then you already know.
Over the past month, I had a few amazing things happen to me. Sadly, I cannot talk to you guys about all the incredible things at this moment, but I am able to address one of them. (Cue the dramatic sound effects) On October 10th, I will be speaking with four other young adult book bloggers at my first ever panel. The panel will be at KidLitCon and is called Going Wide (my blog is not stated in the panel’s information because I agreed to participate after the schedule was posted). Going Wide will be discussing how to begin working with people in the writing industry and how to earn money as a blogger. The four bloggers who will be participating in the panel with me are, Mahnaz Dar (editor for the School Library Journal), Marjorie Ingall (columnist for Tablet magazine and a contributor for The New York Times), Charlotte Taylor (blogger for Charlotte’s Library and B&N Reads), and Paula Willey (blogger for unadulterated.us, columnist for The Baltimore Sun, contributor for School Library Journal, and reviewer for Booklist). You can check out my panel on the second day of the conference (Saturday) at 2:30.
For those who may be unaware, KidLitCon is a writing conference that focuses on literature for kids and young adults. This year, KidLitCon is being hosted at the Hyatt Place Harbor East in Baltimore, Maryland on October 9th and 10th. The main theme of this year’s conference is children and young adult book bloggers. With this in mind, the two-day event features an abundance of incredible panels for bloggers on that age group. You can see the whole schedule here. Also, on the day following the conference (Sunday the 11th) there will be a tour of Baltimore that you can participate in. If you register by September 20th, you can save $25 on the full registration package! The complete registration package includes two days of panels and presentations, Friday lunch, Friday dinner and bowling(!), Saturday lunch discounts. If you are only looking to attend on Saturday, the price is $50. Also, the tour of Baltimore on Sunday is an extra $35. You can buy all the tickets that I previously stated here. If you plan on staying at the Hyatt Place Baltimore Inner Harbor the price will be $175 a night if you reserve your room now with this special reservation link or by calling the hotel and telling them that you are with Kidlitcon 2015.
If any of you are planning on attending, please comment below!
